Large Animal Services

The large animal services provided by WDVC for cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, llamas and alpaca include herd health, sickness care, surgery, reproduction, wellness and vaccination protocols, to name a few. In addition, we are able to bring along a Silencer hydraulic chute for ease of on-site exams and treatment.

Our veterinarian can answer questions, educate staff, make suggestions, and plan a preventive medicine strategy to help your herd thrive. Vaccination and deworming protocols, nutrition changes and plan implementation, along with regular reviews and modifications as needed, is a proven approach and a great investment for herd health.

At West Dakota Vet Clinic, our vaccination protocol is based on the most progressive research and findings. Each herd’s needs will vary; we ask that you contact our clinic and our doctors will create a specific protocol for your herd.

To aid in the diagnosis of your herd’s illness, we offer in-house laboratory blood chemistry and complete blood count, as well as the ability to diagnose fractures and lameness. We are able to treat many diseases, including septic joints, respiratory disease, scours and hernias. Sickness care also includes the treatment of abscesses, lameness, hoof rot and other related injuries. We offer joint injections for valuable breeding animals with injuries that result in arthritis of the joints.

Emergency services are available 24 hours a day by our on-call staff veterinarian. Contact us at 701-483-0240.

Reproductive services are available, including breeding soundness exams and reproductive ultrasounds. Please contact our office with questions regarding your specific herd reproductive needs.
