Examinations, vaccinations, deworming, health certificates and routine testing such as Coggins are all part of wellness care for your horse. Our veterinarian will answer questions, discuss your concerns, and make recommendations for your horse, including nutrition, exercise, reproduction, geriatric care or specialty procedures.
Our veterinarian will perform a physical examination to determine if the horse is suitable for the intended sport or task, including an extensive physical, soundness and neurologic examination. Other elective exams may include laboratory tests, radiographs (X-rays) and ultrasound exams.
We offer in-house laboratory blood chemistry and complete blood count to aid in the diagnosis of your horse’s illness. We are able to treat many diseases, including medical colic, Cushing’s disease, joint infections, and kidney and liver disease. We also work closely with referral veterinarians when advanced diagnostics and therapy are needed.
We work with you to identify potential or underlying problems that could worsen as a horse ages. Additionally, we recommend a complete physical examination and blood testing to establish baseline values on any horse in their teen years.
We provide complete dental examinations and routine and corrective procedures including molar/incisor reduction, balance, extractions, bit seats and molar arcade balance. In addition, radiographs may be used to evaluate tooth roots, fractured teeth or tooth abscesses to aid in their diagnosis and treatment.
Surgery of the horse is performed for castration, biopsy, laceration repair and multiple elective soft tissue procedures, either standing or in a resting position as required by the procedure.
Broodmare services include ultrasound interpretation of cycle, pregnancy diagnosis, teasing, post partum care, uterine lavage, foal care, and uterine culture/cytology. Stallion services include breeding soundness exams and semen evaluation.
This painless and non-invasive diagnostic tool allows us to view and evaluate soft tissues such as tendons and ligaments, reproductive organs, lumps and tumors.
Our modern digital radiograph machine produces images that are much sharper and show greater detail than images obtained from traditional radiography machines.
Emergency services are available 24 hours a day for sickness, lameness, injury, metabolic problems or chronic illness. Contact us at 701-483-0240.
Hematology (red and white blood cell), chemistry, and microscopic evaluation (urine and fecal) are all performed in-house. Advanced diagnostics are also available on a case-by-case basis.
